Newsletter - August / September 2010

A very warm welcome to you all from the Raindrop’s team Alan, Laura and Nancy and from the Rainbow’s team Jenny, Debbie, Leanne and Denise.

We would like to congratulate Jenny on her name change to ‘Mrs Hamilton’.

In Brief

Now, as we begin with the most wonderful children in attendance, we have had many thoughts and discussions on levels of attainment for the groups. We have decided to extend the Curriculum for Excellence into the Raindrops. We have included Laura and Nancy’s groups because our children are and will be turning three during the first and second term of the year. Our monthly focus will involve both rooms working together on our topics.  To begin with, we will look at ‘Routines’ - Life at Home, Room Changes, Jobs People Do, Local Community and Seasons. 

We all feel it will help us as a team and blend the rooms further with older and younger benefiting from each other's good examples.

Alan’s group as we know is where our youngest members begin and he will continue to support their transition into the life of our Montessori nursery. Alan will continue with the Under Three’s curriculum features.

To help you as parents we would like to make sure we are handholding and building strong partnerships together so, we invite you all to attend

Our first ‘getting to know you’ parent and staff meeting

The Rainbow’s will be on Wednesday 29th September 6.30pm – 7.30pm

The Raindrop’s will be on Tuesday 28th September 6.30pm – 7.30pm.

The agenda for each meeting is to introduce you to your child’s key teacher and explain what we will be up to over the coming months.  We will continue in September with Yoga from Fiona, Spanish from Daniella and Music with Barnaby (from the 16th August).
